For a democratic sharing of resources
The piece was made with the help of the inhabitants of Seyðisfjörður. The idea was to relate the name of the village to the awareness of belonging.
The letters of Seyðisfjörður where made in big size: 250×180 cm. with neon tubes, distributed all over the village in a random without association, or precise context, and without reproducing the village name in its whole meaning. Inside the exhibition gallery I showed a map of the village drawn by me, with solely the letters positions around the village. During the residency I also recorded interviews within inhabitants to dredge the history of the village names, asking about their idea and getting so multiple explanations of the collective history.
Media: neon lights, wood, CD player, headphones, paper, and drawing.
